Targa Seat cowl install

I put one on my bike in June of 2001. The installation was incredibly easy. First step was to remove the passenger seat.
The unit comes with two posts. One goes in the stock rear latch, the other goes in a supplied bracket.

To mount the bracket you just remove the bolt holding the front seat, slide it in, and re-tighten the bolt.

The posts come with locknuts to adjust the height of the seat cowl. You want it tight enough to not rattle and loose enough to open.

The color match is perfect. You can add the “butt pad” if you like. I did.

Some people have complained about the latch. I squirted some dish soap on the rubber grommet on the supplied bracket and have had no problems.
