I was back with Sportbike Track Time at VIR Full. Once again, I crashed.  I passed this guy going into turn one. Remembering that I "ran wide" and hit some guy last month I decided to keep in on the inside. Bad move. I lowsided. I was OK, in fact I got up and ran off the track (after my bike). The Ninja, however, wasn't so lucky. It hit the curb on the outside and flipped over a couple of times. That broke a lot of stuff. All the plastics have damage, both footpegs are broken. The subframe is bent. The ram-air duct broke. The muffler is dented. The right handlebar is bent, brake lever broken. The headlight assembly has all but two of 12 mounting tabs broken.

Fortunately, there is eBay. So far I've replaced all the broken parts. I even took the bike on a local ride, rashed plastics and all. One of my friends, now a WERA racer, saw that somebody was selling race plastics and a gas tank. I bought them. Now all I have to do is replace/repair the street plastics and I'll be happy. Well, as happy as one can be, I guess.

Because of this fall, I cancelled my trip to Barber. Instead I went on a business trip/mini vacation with my wife. I cancelled purely for financial reasons. This year has been much more expensive than I planned. I need to pay off my credit card, which it was before this season started.

From all of this, I've learned (well, we'll see pending Summit) to relax. I tried to go too fast too soon. This bike doesn't have the horsepower of my 900  (duh) so I have to get all my passing done in the corners. I'll take it easier from here on out. Fortunately I haven't been hurt. It took an expensive repair to make me see what I had to do.

Anyway, on to the pictures! (and video)
